Prévention CDN-NDG plans and supervises the creation of murals throughout the borough of Côte-des-Neiges and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.

We do this as a way not only of improving the quality of life of local residents, but also as a means of preventing vandalism. Working with professional artists to create large-scale murals provides a very effective means of dissuading potential vandals. Indeed, as a preventative tool, murals can definitely produce some surprising results! As a general rule, taggers respect the time and effort that artists put into their creations and thus tend to refrain from vandalizing murals on buildings and vehicles alike. Since 2002, dozens of murals have been created in collaboration with the owners of various properties across the borough, from commercial and residential buildings to the offices of community organizations, delivery trucks, and many more. Transforming defaced concrete walls into works of art is a great way of beautifying our city while also showing respect for fellow citizens and their property.
