We can now officially announce that the community outreach project for young women, in Côte-des-Neiges, that has been run by Fanny since June of 2014, will be able to continue thanks to a $50,000 grant given to us by the Provincial of Public Security’s Programme de prévention et d’intervention en matière d’exploitation sexuelle des jeunes. (The Sexual Exploitation Prevention and Intervention program for young people)
Mr. David Birnbaum MNA for D’Arcy-McGee made the announcement during a press conference today at 6767, Côte-des-Neiges. Mr. Birnbaum spoke on behalf of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy as well as the Minister of Public Security, Mr. Martin Coiteux.
This project is one of six financed by this Program for 2016-2017, in an envelope totalling $300 000 according to the press release.
Terri, Executive Director at Prévention CDN-NDG as well as Fanny, outreach worker for young women in Côte-des-Neiges and La Voie High School also spoke with a goal of highlighting the support of the provincial government as well as to explain the importance of public funding of programs such as this, dedicated to the fight against sexual exploitation and the prevention of Hypersexualization.
