Green table – Encouraging environmental civic initiatives in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce

Do you want to get involved in protecting the environment? To meet other involved citizens? To talk about solutions and concrete actions? Here is a new initiative of the Éco-quartier NDG –the NDG Green Table! Please save the date — Wednesday February 3rd, 2016. It will be the first NDG Green Table meeting, where the Éco-quartier staff will meet with local citizens who want to get involved in the greening, beautification and using the dynamism of citizen initiatives related to the environment in NDG. Through panel discussions, exploratory walks, and a space for discussion, citizens will be invited to explore and even suggest some specific areas that have issues / problems. There is the potential to highlight interesting projects and/ or to get inspiration to repeat those projects elsewhere in the neighborhood.

Inspired by Jane Jacobs’ walks, exploratory walks and discussions will also allow citizens to better understand the environmental concerns of area residents and to observe the existing resources or to create new resources together.

Potential topics to be covered (more to come based on citizen’s interest): heat islands, green corridors, active/ green alleys, greening, identification of edible wild plants, cleanliness, artistic walls, etc.

More details to come!
