Subsidy Regulations for the felling of ash trees and their replacement: It is forbidden, at any time, to keep a dead or dying ash tree on a property. A subsidy can be granted to a home-owner who:
• had his ash trees cut down after August 30, 2017 (when the subsidy regulation when into effect);
• planted at least one tree to replace a felled ash tree on his property;
• met all eligibility conditions set out in Regulation 17-07 on the felling subsidy of ash trees and their replacement.
The subsidy provides $5 per diameter (in cm) of the felled ash tree. The total amount granted may not exceed $4,000 per residential property.
10 cm is the minimal tree diameter for which a subsidy can be requested.
