Lysiane Chagnon-Fontaine

Volunteer & greening coordinator – Éco-quartier NDG

Lysiane has been working with us since September 2015.

Lysiane is responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers at the Éco-quartier. She also takes care of various greening projects, for instance the maintenance of the community composters. You will meet her during events and activities organized in the neighbourhood, or with gloves and a pitchfork at the community composters.
Lysiane did her bachelor’s degree at the University of Montreal in communication and political science. Whenever she had to submit school projects, she worked on environmental issues. She soon realized where that would take her! She pursued her studies and earned a master’s degree in environmental studies (MES) from the University of Waterloo. Her research thesis focused on climate change adaptation and urban forest management. With her own experience as a volunteer in the non-profit sector, she feels right at home with her work as the volunteer and greening coordinator at the Éco-quartier NDG. Her position combines her interests for the environment and for citizen mobilization.
