When the first COVID 19 quarantine was applied in Montreal, we were 5 weeks into SNAP group sessions at the Walkley Centre. At first, workshops came to a complete halt.

Within a couple of weeks, we realized that we were not going to have access to the centre any time soon, so we initiated virtual sessions for the parents and caregivers via zoom.

I’m pleased to say, that with some adaptation and experimentation, we managed to complete that group and, in October, start a new session for parents and caregivers, as well as a boy’s group!

This is our last week of the sessions, and we are so very pleased with how smoothly things have gone.

We are also fortunate enough to have a new animator on board, who joined us right in time to start the boy’s group.  He’s been a great pleasure to work with and we’re lucky to have him on our team.

Nicolas Khoury graduated from the Community Recreation Leadership Training program at Dawson and is pursuing a university degree in Human Relations at Concordia.

Happy Holidays from all of us on the SNAP team!
