One year after the implementation of mandatory sex education in Quebec schools, the Coalition pour l’éducation à la sexualité finds that due to a lack of financial and human resources, its implementation does not take place everywhere.

As part of the Culture of Consent project, Prevention CDN-NDG employees surveyed young people aged 12 to 17 about sexual violence in school and community settings, here are some observations:

– 71% of girls and 40% of boys have already received degrading comments;

– Nearly three out of five girls say they have been touched or sexually gripped without their consent;

– 83% of girls consider sexual harassment as a problem in their school.

The numbers speak for themselves, it is time to mobilize !
