Outreach Worker – Hypersexualization
The mandate of the Hypersexualization prevention outreach worker is to highlight issues that affect young women and to distil the most important risk factors affecting them, particularly in regards to sexual exploitation. Her role includes representing the interests of the adolescents with whom she is in contact with in the organization of various activities and programs of the Outreach team. Much of her work consists of developing contacts in the community and finding resources to assist in the task of providing referrals and accompaniment. She works in collaboration with community’s organizations that belong to the Table de Concertation Jeunesse Côte-des-Neiges, to which she sometimes refers girls. In turn, these agencies may refer girls to the outreach worker or other organizations with which the outreach worker collaborates. She is mainly present in the La Voie high school, but also walks in public spaces in case she is needed.
